the winter chapter:
The Winter Chapter is the gothic/80's influenced post punk band from the San Francisco Bay Area quickly moving its sound through out Northern California and gathering fans as it moves into Southern California and out across the West Coast.
Formed in 1995 by bassist Steve Jennings, The Winter Chapter cultivated a dark and moody soundscape utilizing the talents of vocalist Felix and synthesizer players Jeff Croall and Stacy Latta.
The Winter Chapter has released 2 EPs and has now independently released a full length CD 'Time of Faith', which has received great reviews from print, clubs, and other artists:
"The Winter Chapter is a sharp contrast from the current slew of industrial/metal tinged bands as they contribute to a musical scene that has spanned the greater part of twenty years, no matter what the current trend dictate." - Jim Kaz of Zero Magazine
"I liked the vocal style, as well as the fact that (they) were playing instruments, instead of purly fooling around with electronica." - Mehitobel Wilson of Carpe Noctem Magazine
"A band in the process of conquering the SF Bay Area." - DJ 'Grimace' of KZSU
With interest and popularity gaining every week, The Winter Chapter's fan base and demographic grows - from those who just miss the power and emotion of Eighties 'dark-pop' to the very selective gothic and darkwave fans. Club DJs are emailing from as far away as NYC, and Tampa, Florida, as well as Europe and Canada requesting copies of 'Time of Faith', and these DJs are regularly playing the CD, producing even more interest in The Winter Chapter among club goers. College radio has also been very receptive to The Winter Chapter, with their single 'Blinded' getting airplay at KUSF (San Francisco State), KZSU (Stanford University), KSJS (San Jose State), KZSC (U.C. Santa Cruz), KSCU (Santa Clara University), WXJM (MSC Harrisonburg, Virginia), and WXYC (Chapel Hill, North Carolina).
With a couple of years of solid experience headlining, as well as supporting bands which include Modern English, Gene Loves Jezebel, Diatribe, and Shadow Project, The Winter Chapter's stage presence is strong, emotive and energized, leaving the crowd with a definite understanding of where music has been and where new music is heading.
